Their name, Yuncu, means wool merchant, as these nomads paid their taxes to the Ottoman Empire with wool of the highest quality. Yuncu kilims are known for their simple design with limited color palette, generally madder red and indigo blue. This flatweave rug represents the classic Yuncu design with a series of rams horns (kocboynuzu) emerging from a pole.
